Portugal 1998

The IODA Worlds was held in Troia south of Lisbon. Most of the 1997 team, Greg, Simon and John returning with Greg Baker coaching and the addition of van Reenen and McClarty. The experience of the previous year and warmer conditions suited the team. This year it was Simon Baer who put in an excellent result. Going into the last day Simon as lying 11th but two not so good results pushed him out of the top 20. John Eloff befriended the attractive Finnish girls but on the water the one caught him port and starboard which lead to a protest which he lost. There must have been some moral in that story.
