Pre-Race Checklist
Boat:
• Hull (no cracks or holes)
• Bolts and screws are all present and secure
• Sail (check for wear and tear)
• Sail ties (check for wear and tear, and each eye on the sail has one)
• Mainsheet blocks (turn freely and working. Shackles securely fastened)
• Battens
• Buoyancy bags (no punctures!)
• Bailer (tied on)
• Emergency paddle (tied on)
• Rudder (check retainer clip!)
• Tiller
• Tiller extension
• Universal joint
• Daggerboard (tied on)
• Mast
• Mast lock
• Sprit
• Boom
• Burgee
• Painter (tow rope that FLOATS, 8.5 meter length, securely tied to the mast step)
• Tape measure (to adjust mast rake)
• Dolly wheels (no punctures!)
Sailor:
• Personal buoyancy / Personal flotation device (PFD)
• Hat / cap (with lanyard)
• Gloves
• Booties
• Wind breaker
• Shorts / rash vest / wetsuit
• Dark glasses
• Something to drink
• A snack
• Protest flag (team racing only)
• Watch
• Sunblock
• Paid-up annual Class Membership fee
• Racing rule book
