After a very successful Youth Nationals that was hosted at Henly Midmar Yacht club Optimist sailing with in Kwazulu Natal gained some more traction.
Point Yacht Club are still continuing with Optimist Sailing on Saturdays with a Active fleet of about 6 oppies sailing.
Last year Optimist sailing increased their numbers with a active fleet of 12 Boats.
An Optimist Clinic was held at Zulu Land Yacht club and 13 Kids attended this clinic over the Easter weekend. ZYC Is currently preparing the Club boats and will have 7 Active Oppies sailing soon. The second clinic will be held in two weeks’ time at HMYC.
For years KZN Had no interclub racing we are having our first Interclub racing in two weeks’ time between the following yacht clubs in KZN
Henley Midmar Yacht Club
Point Yacht Club
Zulu Land Yacht Club.
